The Juneau Public Library currently offers two platforms for accessing digital materials. Your JPL library card gives you access to both options, making e-books, eAudio, digital magazines, movies, music, and television just a click away.
Libby
The JPL and it partners in the Monarch Library System participate in Wisconsin’s Digital Library. This immense digital catalog is accessible through Libby (formerly OverDrive). The Libby app is available from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Libby can also be accessed using a web browser. Simply open Libby, search for JPL in the list, and log-in using your library card number and passcode. You can borrow up to 10 items at a time and place an additional 10 items on hold as well as create TBR lists and tag your favorite titles.
Hoopla
The JPL also purchases content from hoopla, which allows you to instantly borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows. Hoopla is also accessible through an app or streaming service. Choose “Juneau Public Library” from the library listing and create a log-in linked to your library card. Due to the pay as you go structure, the JPL limits hoopla checkouts to 3 per month. This allows us to balance user demand and responsible budgeting.
Universal Class
Learn something new today! Universal Class offers hundreds of online CE classes. The courses are not just tutorials; they are real. They include lessons, exams, assignments, discussion boards and actual assessments of your progress. Verify your learning progress with the assessment of assignments and exams. Receive actual grades and feedback regarding your performance. Earn a certificate documenting your CEUs, contact hours, and course completion. Build your online portfolio and share your achievements with others. All courses are self-paced. This means you can learn when you want on your own time. You do not need to be online at a specific date or time.
