What are the Friends?
The Friends of the Juneau Public Library, Inc. was organized in 1991. It is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and expanding library services. Support takes many forms from hosting fundraising events and writing grants to making donations and sharing their time and talents. Currently they contribute to programs and materials for the Summer Reading Program, Children’s Book Week, and Community Trick-or-Treating as well as a future Learning Garden on the library lawn (expected Summer 2027).
Friends Meetings
The Friends of the Juneau Public Library meet four times per year (March, June, September and December) usually the first Wednesday of the month at 9:00am in the meeting room at the JPL. The annual meeting, held in June, elects officers and summarizes the year’s successes and set goals for the upcoming year.
